Showcasing Your Designs: 3 Websites to Check Out

One of the previous posts has been devoted to social networks that may be useful for designers (see “Social Media for Creatives“). Today we are going to discuss three other websites, which are quickly becoming as popular as the well-known Pinterest and Behance.

1. DESIGN:RELATED

Design Related

This project started in 2006. It’s a creative community with portfolios, inspirations and the latest design industry news. The online network brings together illustrators, photographers, designers and art directors from around the world. The difference from Behance is an opportunity to display your inspiration images in your profile and share news about design.

2. THE MATBOARD

The Matboard

Feel that Pinterest is too feminine or crowded for you? Check out the Matboard! It also lets you pin your favorite images to a virtual board, but it has been designed specifically for creatives. The Matboard launched just a few months ago. It is quickly gaining new content and registered users. If you are familiar with Pinterest then you will quickly be able to understand how the Matboard works. The term “Repin” is replaced with “Re-Mat”, and each “Mat” (post) features information about who posted it and where it originated on the internet.

3. DESIGN SPOTTER

Design Spotter

It is more a directory rather than a social network. In few years it grew up from a design blogroll to a big design portal. You can submit your products and projects as well as create your own profile. “We publish your creative works and force a worldwide media coverage in lifestyle and architecture magazines, newspapers, blogs and broadcasters” – isn’t this a good reason to join?
